I was checking out Facebook, seeing what was happening with family and friends, and kept seeing this place pop up time and time again. So I told Amy that we may have to go and try it. However, I just blew off going until one evening when we were just sitting around, and I looked at Amy and said let's go try Duck Donuts. Well we drove down 544 toward 17 at the Wal-Mart neighborhood market, and there it was.

We went in to see what kind of donuts they had and if they could compare to the big franchise shops. I can tell you one thing; they sure can. When we walked in, we saw employees making fresh donuts, not like the Krispy Kreme ones, but like you would at home. They were mixing the batter, dropping them in the fryer and pulling them out. Once they cooled off, they would dip them in whatever topping you wanted on them. It was just amazing to watch them work. They have dozens of toppings to choose from. Amy and I got a dozen of assorted donuts; citrus pop, chocolate nut sundae, strawberry shortcake, cookies and cream, cinnamon powdered, powdered sugar, peanut butter bomb. They are a little more expensive than the big franchises but they are well worth it. So when you crave a good donut, go give Duck Donuts a try.
