One of the staples for Amy and I at breakfast or brunch is the Famous Toastery at Carolina Forest. I know that there is more than one and it's not a mom & pop place, but the food is awesome and the service is outstanding.
The menu has everything you could want; from omelettes, eggs benedict, waffles, and pancakes to breakfast wraps, breakfast quesadillas, and sausage gravy biscuits. The restaurant is small and quaint, with a bar to the right and a little juice bar and kitchen to the left. The restaurant is in a little strip mall just off Carolina Forest Blvd.
This past time that Amy and I went, we decided to go outside our norm and she ordered the breakfast quesadilla and I had the sausage gravy biscuit benedict. Her quesadilla had ham, mozzarella, cheddar and eggs served with salsa and sour cream. My Country Benedict as they call it is a biscuit topped with country ham, eggs any way you want them, and sausage gravy. Then we each had a piece of french toast on the side. This food was totally mouth watering.
The owners Tim and Michelle McKinnis have really found a diamond in the rough with this little gem. So if you are hankering for a great little place for breakfast or brunch, go give the Famous Toastery a try and tell them you saw it on the Fat Guy Experience.
